Trail Technician
Under the supervision of the Regional Trails Coordinator, the incumbent will perform a variety of duties relating to the care and maintenance of the Black Diamond Trails and the Catherine Valley Trail in Finger Lakes State Park Region. The position involves heavy manual labor, working outdoors and the ability to operate a variety of pieces of equipment including chainsaw, UTVs, light equipment, chainsaws, brush cutters and mowers. Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Mowing and brush removal. o Removal of invasive species. o Chainsaw operation to remove downed trees form trail and standing hazard trees. o Trail resurfacing, culvert cleaning and maintenance, and erosion control. o Inspects the operating area to identify potential safety hazards, needs for skilled maintenance, landscaping requirements, litter control, refuse removal, etc., report findings to supervisor(s) and/or undertakes corrective action. o Performs routine manual maintenance tasks such as painting, light carpentry, and sign installation.

From $15.50 to $15.50 Hourly
