Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical)

NYS Parks is looking for an electrical engineer who can utilize their technical skill in managing projects related to renewable energy and electric vehicle charging stations at NYS Parks throughout the state. The Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical) will work as part of a team to achieve NYS Parks' goal of offsetting 100% of its electricity use with renewable sources by 2030 and the State's goal of converting the agency's fleet to be 100% zero emissions by 2040. Most of the renewable energy will be derived from solar arrays set in our parks and historic sites. The Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical) will utilize their expertise to assist in the implementation of solar and electric vehicle charging station installations at Parks' facilities in coordination with Parks' engineers, environmental staff, historic preservation, regional staff as well as consultants, vendors, and utility providers.

Salary Range:
From $97826 to $120492 Annually
Minimum Qualification
For Permanent Appointment:
Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical) and a New York State Professional Engineer's license with current registration. If you are on the Civil Service eligible list for this title, you may receive a canvass letter. You must complete and return it as instructed on the letter. Section 70.1 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Professional Engineer 2 with one of the following parenthetical title designations:
Professional Engineer 2 (Civil), Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Construction), Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Geotechnical), Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Materials), Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Structural), Professional Engineer 2 (Civil/Transportation), Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical), Professional Engineer 2 (Environmental), Professional Engineer 2 (Industrial), Professional Engineer 2 (Mechanical), Professional Engineer 2 (Mechanical/HVAC) AND possess a New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration may be eligible for a 70.1 transfer. Provisional Appointment:
In the event that there is no valid eligible list at this location, candidates who meet the following minimum qualifications for the Professional Engineer 2 (Electrical) may apply and if hired, will be provisionally appointed:
You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Professional Engineer 1 (Electrical) and a New York State Professional Engineer's license with current registration. Candidates appointed provisionally must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title, and their score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before they can be permanently appointed. Candidates who do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score may not be retained.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
