Assistant Engineer (Electrical)

NYS Parks is looking for an electrical engineer who can utilize their technical skill in managing projects related to renewable energy and electric vehicle charging stations at NYS Parks throughout the state. They will work as part of a team to achieve NYS Parks' goal of offsetting 100% of its electricity use with renewable sources by 2030 and the State's goal of converting the agency's fleet to be 100% zero emissions by 2040. Most of the renewable energy will be derived from solar arrays set in our parks and historic sites. The Assistant Engineer (Electrical) will utilize their expertise to assist in the implementation of solar and electric vehicle charging station installations at Parks' facilities in coordination with Parks' engineers, environmental staff, historic preservation, regional staff as well as consultants, vendors, and utility providers. Salary Range:
From $67897 to $86140 Annually
Minimum Qualification
For Permanent Appointment:
Candidate must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list or eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law AND Either 1. proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) AND a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher as listed below; Qualifying degrees:
Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science with a recognized concentration in any of the above listed engineering degrees. OR 2. proof of passing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) AND one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience as listed below.
